Let's be honest: planning a wedding shouldn't feel like solving a math problem where every choice adds another line item.

That's why at McVey Homestead, we do things differently. One flat rate. No surprise fees. No vendor kickbacks. No credit card surcharges or parking fees or "oops, we forgot to mention" charges.

What you see is what you pay. Period.

Every package includes the entire property, two nights of lodging in our fully renovated 1902 farmhouse (sleeps 6), plus free camping and RV spaces for guests who want to stay on-site. You also get tables and chairs, over 1,000 curated décor items (ceremony arches, vintage furniture, string lights, candles—yes, all of it), setup and breakdown, and our team's support before and after your celebration, optional additional person to cry at your wedding (if needed).

We’re not for everyone.
Here's what makes McVey different: this isn't a ballroom or a blank slate warehouse. It's a place with roots. A 165-year-old willow tree who's seen generations of celebrations. Gardens coming alive with the seasons. Mountain views that shift with the light. A historic barn where vintage vibes meet hayloft dancing. And lodging right on the property, so your closest people can wake up and have coffee with you on your wedding day.

You get to focus on the thing that actually matters: being present with the people you love, in a place that invites you to slow down.

Three Ways to Celebrate at McVey

We offer three distinct wedding packages designed for different timelines and vibes. Whether you're planning an intimate Montana elopement, a weekend celebration with your closest people, or a full retreat-style gathering, we've got you covered.

The difference isn't about "better" or "worse"—it's about how much time you want and what kind of experience you're creating.

The Montana Weekend

Thursday–Saturday (2 Nights) | $6,750
Available May–October

Perfect for couples who want to celebrate at McVey AND explore Montana.

Check in Thursday at noon and settle into the farmhouse with your closest people. Spend the afternoon setting up your personal touches, and maybe run through your ceremony in front of the Bitterroot Mountains. Host an intimate rehearsal dinner Thursday evening—dinner under the stars, s'mores by the fire, whatever feels right.

Friday is your wedding day. You'll wake up on-site with your people around you (no rushing, no hotel shuttles, no stress). Time for mimosas (we’re a fan) and getting ready, then the magic happens. Your ceremony with the Bitterroot Mountains as your backdrop, dinner under that 165-year-old willow tree, and dancing in the barn's hayloft where vintage vibes and history come together.

Saturday morning? Sleep in at the farmhouse, then it’s time to explore. Take post-wedding photos at Glacier or Yellowstone. Go fly fishing on a blue-ribbon river. Start your honeymoon early. Your guests have the same opportunity to explore the Big Sky and depart from McVey, conveniently situated less than an hour away from Missoula.

The vibe: McVey is your beautiful home base. Montana is your destination.

Includes:

  • Exclusive use of entire property for your entire stay (barn, farmhouse, willow tree, all indoor/outdoor spaces)

  • 2-night stay in the 1902 farmhouse (sleeps 6)

  • Additional lodging opportunities - free on-site camping and two RV spaces with electrical hookups

  • 1,000+ curated décor items, ceremony arches, vintage furniture

  • Tables & chairs

  • Setup, and full cleanup (seriously, no one should clean a venue right after they get married)

  • No hidden fees—we even cover the taxes

The Extended Celebration

Saturday–Monday (2 Nights) | $7,750
Available May–October

Our most-booked package.

Maximum flexibility. Whether you're doing a Saturday evening wedding (arrive, prep, celebrate all in one day) or a Sunday celebration (Saturday to ease in, Sunday wedding, Monday to relax), you get breathing room on both sides—and lodging right on the property.

Option 1: Saturday wedding. Check in at noon, your closest people decorate and add the personal touches while you settle into the farmhouse and get ready. Hold your ceremony with mountain views, celebrate under the willow tree and in the barn until 10:30 pm, then wake up Sunday together for a post-wedding brunch, hiking adventure, or lazy morning before checkout Monday. No rushing to pack. No hotel checkout times. Just lingering. Together.

Option 2: Sunday wedding. Arrive Saturday for an intimate welcome gathering and rehearsal dinner. Sleep in the farmhouse with your people. Wake up Sunday relaxed and ready. Celebrate Sunday evening among the gardens and under string lights. Depart Monday feeling like you actually got to BE at your wedding instead of just hosting it.

The vibe: Not rushed, not dragging—just right. Time to savor your celebration without feeling squeezed.

The McVey Retreat

Thursday–Monday (5 Days) | $12,000
Available May–October

For groups whose people are scattered—when gathering is rare and time together is the real gift.

Arrive Thursday at noon. Check out Monday at noon. With almost five days at McVey, something shifts: it stops feeling like a venue and starts feeling like home. The farmhouse becomes your home base.

You settle in. Your people spread out across the farmhouse (sleeps 6), camping spots, hookup to the RV power, the whole property. There's time to explore, to linger. Morning coffee on the farmhouse porch watching the mountains wake up. Long dinners under the willow tree. Evening fires where actual conversations happen. Wandering the gardens as they come alive. Your wedding happens somewhere in the middle—Friday, Saturday, or Sunday, your call—but the gift isn't just the ceremony. It's the TIME. The mornings together. The shared meals. The late-night conversations in a place that feels like yours.

Especially when your friends live in different states (or countries), and this might be the only week you're all together for years.

The vibe: Less "destination wedding," more "our crew claimed a Montana homestead for a week and got married while we were there."

Includes:

Exclusive use of entire property (barn, farmhouse, willow tree, all indoor/outdoor spaces) for 5 days

5-night stay in the 1902 farmhouse (sleeps 6)

Free on-site camping/RV spaces with electrical hookups

1,000+ curated décor items, ceremony arches, vintage furniture

Tables & chairs

Setup, day-of support, and full cleanup

No hidden fees—we even cover the taxes

Room to breathe, space to be present, and a place that surrounds you with reminders to slow down

Here's What "It’s all included" Actually Means

No fine print. No "subject to availability" nonsense. Here's what you get with every McVey Homestead wedding package:

The Whole Property Is Yours

Exclusive use from check-in to checkout. The entire homestead: ceremony lawn under the willow tree, gardens coming alive with the seasons, the historic barn for dancing and gathering, farmhouse, and all outdoor spaces. No other weddings. No shared spaces. No awkward overlap. Just your people, your celebration, your weekend.

Lodging Included (This Changes Everything)

Two nights (or five, if you're doing the Retreat) in our fully renovated 1902 farmhouse. Sleeps 6 comfortably. This isn't just convenience—it's the thing that makes your wedding actually feel different. You wake up on your wedding day with your closest people around you. No hotel shuttles. No coordinating ride times. Just coffee on the porch next to the apple tree, unhurried getting ready, and being exactly where you need to be.

Plus: Free on-site camping and RV spaces with electrical hookups for guests who want to stay close. For out-of-state families or friends traveling for your celebration, this makes McVey a true destination—not just a ceremony location.

1,000+ Décor Items (Yes, Really)

Décor planning help, vendor coordination, recommended timelines, and an extra set of hands when you need it. We're here if you need us—low-key, not hovering.

Is McVey Right for You?

McVey isn't for everyone, and that's okay.

You'll love it here if:

You want an intimate Montana wedding or elopement (not a 300-person ballroom event)

You're planning a destination wedding and want on-site lodging so your people can be present with you

You value experience and being present over artificially-perfect aesthetics (you might not be doing it for the ‘gram, but it’ll look good there too)

You'd rather spend money on time than on things you'll use once

You want mountain views, emerging gardens, and a venue that feels rooted in place and real

You appreciate transparency and hate surprise fees

You're looking for an includes-almost-everything Montana wedding venue where you can actually relax

You want a venue that is the perfect backdrop to your celebration, not the co-star

You might not love it here if:

You want a sleek, modern, minimalist space (we're historic homestead with character)

You're planning a 250+ guest formal affair (we can fit 200, but we shine with smaller, more intimate gatherings)
